Fliers take off on time

TRAVELLERS flying out of Edinburgh Airport faced fewer delays this summer, according to official punctuality figures.

A total of 73 per cent of charter flights were on time at ten major UK airports, including the Capital, from July to September 2011 – a ten per cent improvement on the same period in 2010, the Civil Aviation Authority said.

The average delay to charter flights was 22 minutes, an improvement on the 30-minute figure in summer 2010.
