Flat rescue after Aberdeen fire

Two women were treated for injuries in hospital yesterday and several more were forced to flee their homes after a blaze broke out in an Aberdeen flat.

A total of 11 people were evacuated from their city home after flames engulfed the property early on Monday morning.

Firefighters had to rescue three people from one of the flats in the Ashgrove Place apartments after battling the blaze.

Four emergency crew members, wearing breathing apparatus, went into the flat to rescue the residents.

Two women were taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation while the third resident had to be treated at the scene by medics.
