Five-year-old boy drowns in tragic accident

A FIVE-YEAR-OLD boy has drowned in an accident in Pakistan just weeks before he was due to return to Scotland to begin school.

Zeyshan Sarrall had been due to leave Pakistan to become a pupil at Viewlands Primary School in Perth following the summer holidays.

He had spent the past two years in Pakistan with his brothers Khayyan, 12, and Taimoor, eight, and his sister Maleeha, ten, after their mother Aysha took the children there from Perth to learn more about the culture of the country.

The family had been staying in the capital, Islamabad, but Zeyshan drowned at the weekend while the family were visiting his grandfather's home in the village of Kurla, in the Dina district.

He is understood to have drowned when he left his grandfather's home to try to retrieve a ball which had been lost the previous day.

Arrangements are being made to return Zeyshan's body to Scotland for burial.
