Guests praised it for its amenities, maintenance, staff, room comfort, location and value.

Those reviews, along with the number of bookings made, saw the venue clinch top spot in the Capital league table.

Julie Grieve, CEO of Lateral City, operators of Old Town Chambers, said: “We are delighted to have won this award and cannot thank both our new and returning customers enough for voting for us.

“Orbitz guests come from all over the world and so we are delighted that our apartments enable guests of all nationalities to feel at home in our beautiful city.”

Old Town Chambers already boasts a list of awards and accolades, including Scottish Hotel Awards Serviced Apartments of the Year 2015, Best renovation/conversions for the Townhouse at the Herald Property Awards 2014, Association of Serviced Apartment Providers (ASAP) Quality Assessment Marque (accreditation), a VisitScotland five-star rating and a five-star Self-Catering AA rating.

Ms Grieve added: “We are extremely grateful for all the awards we have won but the Orbitz award is unique.

“It just goes to prove that it’s not just the stunning exteriors and location that sets Old Town Chambers apart, but also our friendly staff and luxury amenities we have to offer.”

The Old Town Chambers were created during a £46 million redevelopment of the 15th century Advocate’s, Roxburgh’s and Warriston’s closes off the Royal Mile.
