Five projects share £20k funds boost

FIVE community projects are celebrating a funding coup after sharing in a £20,000 windfall of community grants.

India Place Allotments Association, which promotes an organic lifestyle for plot-holders, received £2429, while conservation body Edinburgh World Heritage Trust, which promotes the city’s Old and New Town, accepted a £5000 grant to fund the creation of a Storytelling Garden in the 
Trinity Apse courtyard.

Serenity Cafe, Scotland’s first community-led hub for recovering addicts, received £5000 to develop art through a series of workshops, while Creative Electric, which supports the work of young artists, won £4949 to fund taster workshops in drama, physical theatre, dance and the visual arts.

Adult education providers the Welcoming Assocation successfully applied for £3000 to fund a theatre project to improve health and wellbeing among members.
