Five arrested over human trafficking

European Union police in Kosovo last night said five people, including a former senior official, have been charged with international trafficking of human organs and organised crime.

Karin Limdal, the spokesman for EU's rule of law mission, said doctors and a senior health ministry official are among those charged with the removal of kidneys for international donors and receivers.

No other details were given and the identity of the quintet of suspects was not made public.
