First Scottish display for craft at airshow

Tickets have gone on sale for the National Museum of Flight Airshow at East Fortune near Edinburgh on Saturday 23 July.

This year's Airshow display will include aircraft that have never been displayed in Scotland before and a further four that are new to the National Museum of Flight. Around 10,000 visitors are expected.

The airshow's aerial line-up includes Team Breitling, with its Boeing Stearman bi-planes and death-defying female wingwalkers, as well as an appearance by a Sea King helicopter.

There is also the super-fast Hawker Hunter military jet, Seahawk and Seafire fighter planes, the Pitts Special high performance aircraft and the formation display team, Twister Duo.

For the first time Scotland will welcome the OV-10 Bronco, an aircraft originally designed for American use in Vietnam.

Other aircraft displaying at East Fortune for the first time include a Bucker Jungmann bi-plane - the German equivalent to the Tiger Moth.

Grant MacKenzie, General Manager, National Museum of Flight said: "We're delighted to have Air Tattoo Event Services on board this year.

"They've already lined up some great aerial acts with other aircraft in the pipeline. This year's event is set to be a fabulous family day out."
