First Hogmanay hailed success in Musselburgh

Hogmanay celebrations held in Musselburgh for the first time have been hailed a major success.

Hundreds of people attended the line-up of activities on December 31 that included a lantern parade through the town and a spectacular fireworks display on Musselburgh Links.

Organisers 
Brunton Theatre confirmed all ticketed events had sold out, except for one Moose in the Hoose 
performance.

East Lothian Council cabinet member for community wellbeing, Councillor Tim Day, said: “Feedback has been extremely positive and we are delighted to have welcomed 2013 with such a bright start.”
