Firm making waves in new green energy

THE Chief Secretary to the Treasury, the Rt Hon Danny Alexander MP, visited the Capital's Pelamis Wave Power yesterday.

He was shown the construction of their new wave converter - from the original designs to the model itself.

Pelamis specialises in wave energy converters, which use the motion of ocean surface waves to create electricity.

He also talked to those working on the construction of the new model as well as discussing the Government's policies around renewable energy.

Earlier this week, First Minister Alex Salmond hailed Scotland as "leading the charge" in the green energy revolution.
