Firm creates “location-based” advertising software

AN EDINBURGH University spin-out has launched a free software kit to enable mobile phone operators and makers to target shoppers with “location-based” advertising.

sensewhere’s technology uses existing wireless hotspots to narrow down a consumer’s location to within ten metres so vouchers and offers can be sent to their smartphone.
