Firefighters tackle blaze

AROUND 25 firefighters tackled a blaze at a house in Gilmerton last night.

The fire broke out in the single-storey property in Old Mill Lane just after 7pm and firefighters used two lines of hose and six breathing apparatus as the flames were extinguished.

Crews from Liberton, Tollcross and Newcraighall attended the fire. A fire service spokesman said a presence was still being maintained at the scene this morning.
