Firefighters rescue OAP

FIRE crews evacuated an elderly woman from her flat after a blaze began in a microwave.

Three appliances rushed to the incident on Restalrig Road around 3.45pm yesterday with two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus putting out the fire before it spread.

The 81-year-old woman was given oxygen by the fire crew before being checked over by paramedics.
