Firefighters busy with three blazes

FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle three burning portable cabins in Newbridge yesterday.

The fire, which happened at Lochend Industrial Estate on Queen Anne Drive, broke out just after 5pm.

Nine firefighters and two appliances from Sighthill attended the scene, and the fire was brought under control just before 6pm.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

Meanwhile a 90-year-old woman suffered slight smoke inhalation after a fire broke out at her home in Boghall.

The fire, which took place on Charles Crescent, started in a pan of food at around 5.20pm yesterday.

One fire appliance from Bathgate attended the scene.

Firefighters were also called to another blaze at a flat in Musselburgh earlier yesterday afternoon.

The fire broke out in the roof space of a two-storey end terrace property on Whitehill Gardens, just before 3pm.

Nobody was injured in the fire, the cause of which is currently unknown.

Three appliances from Musselburgh, Newcraighall and Dalkeith attended the scene.
