Firefighter blazes a trail across the UK

A FIREFIGHTER undertaking a cross-country drive to raise money for charity has stopped to visit colleagues in Edinburgh.

Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service had a flying visit from Firefighter Tim Evers and his trailblazer fire engine as part of his two week charity drive around UK Fire and Rescue Services.

Mr Evers is a firefighter from South Yorkshire who has undertaken the challenge to drive a fire appliance from John O'Groats to Land's End, to raise money for charity. Mr Evers has been a firefighter for 13 years and was previously a Bomb Disposal Engineer. For this reason he is raising money for Help for Heroes and The Firefighters Charity.

The fire appliance has been kindly donated for the challenge by James Smith of Chariots of Fire.
