Fire warning for Valentine's

COUPLES planning a romantic candlelit dinner for Valentine's Day have been warned to heed some fire safety advice to ensure their evening does not end in disaster.

Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service are urging people to take basic safety precautions with candles and tealights.

David Lockhart, community safety manager for the service, warned: "We all know it's easy to get caught up in the moment, but it really is true that when your attention stops, fire starts."
