Fire-hit gym is fit and well

THE fire-hit Bannatyne's Health Club in Newcraighall was set to open as usual today thanks to a quick response by fire crews.

A fire broke out in the roof space at 5am yesterday, but the damage was minimal.

A spokesperson for the club said: "Our state-of-the-art automatic fire detection system was triggered and the fire brigade attended promptly."

Police said there did not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.
