Fire breaks out at historic mill

FIREFIGHTERS were last night battling to extinguish a blaze at a historic mill.

The fire broke out at the category one-listed Paton's Mill in Johnstone in Renfrewshire yesterday afternoon.

The main structure of the six-storey building, some of which dates from 1782, collapsed, leaving the rest of the mill in a "precarious" state.
