Film puts the spotlight on prostitution

A SHORT film aimed at exposing the reality of prostitution and pornography in Scotland was set to be launched in the Capital today.

Organisations from across Scotland were meeting in Edinburgh this morning to challenge the damaging impacts of the sex industry on their communities.

The event also included the launch of Scotland's first short film and resource pack designed to support workers in local areas to raise awareness about the harm caused by prostitution, pornography and "adult entertainment".

Two women involved in prostitution in Scotland share their experiences in the seven minute film, Money and Power: Commercial Sexual Exploitation in Scotland, and it also includes interviews and statistics on the sex industry. The DVD was developed by the Women's Support Project and the Zero Tolerance Charitable Trust.
