Fife gas leak evacuees returned to their homes

Residents who were evacuated following a gas leak have returned to their homes.

A 100-metre exclusion zone was set up around the site of the leak near Central Park football ground in Cowdenbeath, Fife, last night.

Fire crews were called to the area at around 8.40pm.

At least 10 residents were evacuated following the leak from a domestic gas main.

A Police Scotland spokesman said they returned to their homes at around 3.30am this morning.
