Festivities set to start with a bang

A LOTHIANS town will mark its Christmas celebrations with a spectacular fireworks display this Saturday.

To herald the start of the festive season, The Centre and McArthur Glen in Livingston will host a day of entertainment.

A visit from Santa’s reindeer, mask-making, face painting and a Christmas parade in The Avenue will all be part of the experience.

Capital FM breakfast presenter Jennie Cook and drive time host Garry Spence will start the party with music, games and competitions throughout the afternoon and will lead shoppers into the countdown to the big light switch-on at 7pm.

Jennifer Bruce, retail liaison manager at The Centre, said: “The real reindeer are expected to make quite an impact with our shoppers, and the official light switch-on by Santa, followed by the fireworks, will be a great ending to what we hope will be the perfect day.”
