Festival brings chefs to table

A STUDENT-LED annual food festival is taking place on April 28, it has been announced.

The Feast 2012 event is run by Jewel & Esk College and Queen Margaret University.

The festival, which will include demonstrations by some of Scotland’s most distinguished chefs, will offer top tips and tasting opportunities for food enthusiasts.

Ron McGilp, curriculum development manager at Jewel & Esk College, said: “This is not only an excellent learning opportunity for students who will be working with chefs, it’s an outstanding opportunity to see and hear from some of Scotland’s most inspiring chefs.”

Last year’s event attracted 400 visitors.

Bernie Quinn, lecturer at Queen Margaret, said: “We hope this encourages people to support Scottish producers.”
