Festival boss gets fired up for big day

Jonathan Mills, director of the Edinburgh International Festival, came face-to-face with a giant pink Chinese Dragon yesterday, ahead of the official opening of the Festival tomorrow.

This year's Festival explores the influences of eastern and western culture on each other, and highlights include an adults-only version of the Arabian Nights, a one-man performance of King Lear - in Mandarin - and a one-off performance by legendary sitar player Ravi Shankar. The Festival runs until September 4,
