Ferret found on Haymarket platform

A ferret, named Mickey by Scottish SPCA staff, was found on the platform at Haymarket station.

The male ferret was spotted by Neil Keay, a member of platform staff, shortly after the train from London King's Cross departed from the station for Glasgow Central on Monday night.

The ferret was collected by Scottish SPCA senior inspector Jenny Scott.

She said: "We're not sure if he has escaped from someone's house or if he has travelled all the way from England on the train. He's very friendly so he is obviously someone's pet."
