Female team sought for MoonWalk

A TEAM of women looking to get healthy and raise money for charity are being sought to take part in this year's Edinburgh MoonWalk.

Active Nation is searching for five women to take part in this year's MoonWalk, which will see 12,000 people take to the streets of the Capital in aid of breast cancer.

The team, headed up by Minister for Public Health and Sport Shona Robison, will take part in the Half Moon event walking 13 miles through the night through Edinburgh on 19 June.

The Active Nation MoonWalk team will show Scots how you can get active and have fun at the same time.

To prepare for the big challenge, the women will be put through their paces ahead of the event by a personal trainer and nutritionist.

They will also receive free running shoes from Run4It to help keep their feet in good shape for the 13-mile journey.

Active Nation personal trainer Claire Wyllie, of Be Fit Personal Training, said: "Sometimes knowing where to start can be the hardest part of getting fit. Getting together with friends for a charity run can be a good way to get on the road to better health."
