Fears raised over Colinton phone mast

CONCERNS have been raised over plans for a new mobile phone antenna in Colinton.

A planning application has been submitted for the 15-metre-tall monopole at land on Colinton Mains Drive.

In a formal objection to the plans, Firrhill Community Council said it supported a policy of "pavements are for pedestrians" and argued that "there is no essential need" for a mobile phone mast.

Colinton/Fairmilehead councillor Jason Rust said: "Concerns have been expressed by the Colinton Mains community and I hope that these will be addressed.

"It is important that the amenity of the area is not adversely impacted to the disadvantage of local residents."
