Fears for teenager missing after boat capsized

A Banffshire teen is missing after the boat he embarked on a fishing trip in capsized.

The family of missing teenager Jake Miller said that they had not heard from since the incident and were trying to make contact with their son's friends in a bid to find out if he is safe.

Dad Graham Miller, 54, of Turriff, said:

He said: "He went fishing last night on a boat and capsized.

"He went out on the boat sometimes with friends.

"We understand he was wearing a very heavy, padded boiler suit. If that was the case it would have dragged him under."

Mr Miller said he did not know whose boat the teenager had headed out to sea on. He said his son no longer stayed at the family home and was not known to go out fishing often.

He added: "All the girls have been on the computer all morning trying to get information."
