Father and son leap from blazing flat

A FATHER and son avoided serious injury after they jumped from a first-floor window to escape a fire.

The blaze started in a storage area between flats in Calder Crescent, Edinburgh. Fire crews found the building filled with smoke when they arrived at about 10pm on Monday.

The father and son, aged about ten, had minor injuries.
