Fast-track service to help beat cancer

A PRIVATE hospital in Murrayfield has introduced a fast track service to improve diagnosis and treatment of ovarian cancer.

Spire Murrayfield Hospital has been accredited as a BUPA-approved diagnostic and treatment centre for all gynaecological cancers.

The accreditation and referral system will guarantee patients a fast-tracked approach to cancer care.

A spokeswoman for the hospital added that patients at risk of gynaecological cancer will see specialist consultants, resulting in quick diagnosis and treatment.

Consultant gynaecological oncologist at the hospital, Dr Cameron Martin, said: "We're delighted to be recognised by BUPA for providing high-quality cancer care.

"The accreditation demonstrates that we offer gold standard quality in cancer diagnosis and treatment.

"Patients will receive care delivered by subspecialty trained consultants and nurse specialists to achieve the best possible outcome."
