"The new building will allow pupils to grow, flourish and develop their educational experience, which may of course lead to many young people becoming the entrepreneurs of the future.

"I am also pleased that the excellent facilities are available for community use."

Councillor Marilyne MacLaren, the city's education leader, said: "Craigroyston has a long and varied history and it's fantastic to see it open as a modern and airy building.

"The opening of all our PPP2 schools really does herald an exciting and stimulating time for education in our city.

"Pupils will benefit from the very latest in up-to-date facilities and the school will also provide a central hub for the local community."
