Fantasy gaming firm FanDuel launches iPad app

EDINBURGH start-up FanDuel has launched an iPad app following the success of its iPhone offering.

The fantasy sports provider allows users to compete against each other in contests, in against other particiapants around the world or set up leagues with their own friends.

Players build their own teams, in sports including basketball and American football, and compete in contest which can last from a day to a week.

The firm, which also has offices in New York,offers cash contest to users in the Unites States.

The new iPad app allows FanDuel’s one million plus active users to draft lineups, enter paid and free leagues, and watch live scoring during games to track their rosters’ progress.

FanDuel’s iPhone app has been downloaded 850,000 times since its launch in August.

“As FanDuel’s userbase has grown, we’ve seen widespread adoption of our mobile products by our users who are complementing the live sports experience by simultaneously watching their fantasy teams rack up points,” said Tom Griffiths, CPO.

“There’s huge potential for us to become the definitive second screen for live sports, and we’re going to invest in and continue to deliver new products and platforms that make watching sports more exciting for fans across the country.”
