Famous No 10 visits the other No 10

ONE of the world's greatest footballers oversaw a kickabout in David Cameron's back garden yesterday.

Pele, who famously wore the number 10 shirt for Brazil during his glittering career, said the sport could help keep young people out of trouble as he gave his support to Street League - a charity designed to people aged 16-25 into employment.

There were a few nervous moment for Downing Street staff, with footballs flying into flower beds and narrowly missing windows as the 70-year-old World Cup winner looked on.

Pele told reporters: "In Brazil, we start playing football in the street, so to support the kids here is great.

"Many kids from the street see the game of football and they turn away from the drugs and the bad scene, which is very important."

He is acting as an ambassador for former club the New York Cosmos, for whom he is honorary president. A select team will represent the former North American champions in a match at Manchester United tomorrow night.
