Family's fury over pervert player switch

THE family of a schoolgirl who claims she was targeted by Craig Thomson have reportedly told of their disgust at Vladimir Romanov's decision to keep the ex-Hearts defender on the books.

The 20-year-old, who was fined 4000 and placed on the sex offenders' register for lewd and libidinous behaviour towards young girls in March, was sacked by the Tynecastle side but transferred to Romanov's Lithuanian team, FBK Kaunas.

Police have launched a probe into allegations that another girl claimed Thomson, from Bonnyrigg, Midlothian, targeted her in web chats at the age of 12, though no charges have been brought.

A source close to the family reportedly said: "They are disgusted. They are stunned that he has been allowed to go abroad to play football and is ultimately still being paid by the owner of Hearts."
