Family of tragic pro golfer creates fundraising calendar

THE family of a golf pro who died in a road accident at the age of just 22 has produced a fundraising calendar in his memory.

Stuart Hutchison worked at the Scottish Golf Centre shop in Seafield Road and was following a correspondence degree course through the Professional Golfers' Association when he died in a road accident on the A7 in September 2009.

Since then, his family has been raising funds for The Golf Foundation to help develop the game at grassroots level through its junior initiative, Clubgolf, and to buy golf equipment to be used by children who don't have their own.

The Stuart Hutchison Trophy event for eight to 14-year- olds was launched at Swanston New Golf Club in September, and the family is now selling a calendar featuring photographs of Stuart, his family, friends, and fellow professional golfers. It is on sale via [email protected] for 8.

His sister, Lorna, said: "We hope people will support this and help us remember Stuart."
