Family in flat blaze drama

THREE people, including a seven-week-old baby, escaped uninjured from their home early today as fire swept through their flat.

Fire crews were called to London Road at 12.30am where they found a ground floor flat in a three-storey block alight.

A man and a woman, both 43, and the baby ,were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation but did not require hospital treatment.

It’s believed the fire started in a garden shed and spread to the flat. Inquiries into the incident are continuing.
