Fake pitch a cut above

A GRASS playing field at a Lothian school is set to be replaced by a synthetic sports pitch after the plans were given a green light by council chiefs.

The playing field at St Peter's Primary School in Musselburgh is now set to be replaced by a "third generation" artificial surface under the project.

The scheme will also see floodlights erected.

The proposals, first put forward by East Lothian Council in November, were agreed at a meeting held last week.
