Fair Trade awards made

AWARDS have been handed to the most Fair Trade-friendly school, retailers and church by the Lord Provost Fair Trade Awards.

Real Foods, based in Broughton Street and Tollcross, was crowned best Fair Trade achiever and praised for 30 years of selling organic and special dietary foods.

Hibiscus Flower in Stockbridge won best Fair Trade newcomer for its ethical clothing range.

St Catherine’s RC Primary in Gracemount was handed best Fair Trade school, and St John Ogilvie’s Church in Wester Hailes scooped best Fair Trade faith community for promoting Fair Trade in it parish since 2003.

The awards were made by Lord Provost George Grubb at Cafe Camino at St Mary’s Parish Centre.
