Facelifts for lunch thanks to new laser technique

A CLINIC in Edinburgh has become the first in Scotland to offer customers a "lunch-hour facelift".

The 75 treatment at Lux Clinics doesn't involve a cosmetic surgeon, scalpel or anaesthetic, instead using a non-invasive technique developed in the US.

The cold-laser treatment was originally designed to help cosmetic surgeons in weight-loss procedures, but was found to have a "natural botox" effect on the skin and so quickly became popular as an alternative to an invasive surgical facelift.

The procedure, which also involves a facial massage, takes just 40 minutes.

An Dau, founder of Stockbridge medi-clinic, said: "The Lux Lipo Laser uses the very latest cold laser technology, called Zerona. The clinically proven machine, which is the only one outside London, was originally designed for inch loss and body contouring but it also worked so well to tighten the skin, eradicate under eye bags and jowls, and also provide a rejuvenating radiance to the skin, that it is now a hugely popular and gentle 'facelift'."
