Exercise put in focus by 5k fun run

AN OUTDOOR fun run aimed at promoting healthy exercise is to be held in the Capital later this year.

Following the success of last year's jogscotland 5k challenge series, the event is returning to Edinburgh on Tuesday 29 June.

The challenge series, this year sponsored by Healthy Working Lives, aims to encourage local communities to get out in the fresh air and enjoy the physical benefits of exercise.

Jogscotland manager Alistair Currie said: "With physical activity at the heart of what we do, the Healthy Working Lives jogscotland 5k challenges give everyone a goal to work towards, as well as a great night out which they can enjoy with their friends, family and colleagues.

"It's great to see familiar faces coming back each year to take part and we always look forward to welcoming first time participants too.

"We are delighted to be working with our new sponsors, the Scottish Centre for Healthy Working Lives, as they recognise the importance of keeping active in health improvement – and that's what we're all about."

Challenges will be held in Inverleith Park and The Royal Botanic Garden starting at 6pm, and more information can be found online at visit www.jogscotland.org.uk/chal lenges.
