Exam board axes 20 jobs

Scotland's exam board is to cut 20 jobs from its offices in Dalkeith and Glasgow.

The Scottish Qualifications Authority said it had to lose the staff because of "budgetary pressures".

It is seeking volunteers for what it calls an "early release scheme".

A spokesman said: "We've provided our 650 staff with details."

The jobs are expected to go by the end of March.
