A WORKER who said he had “the best job in the world” when he beat hundreds of applicants to become the caretaker of Inchcolm Island is suing his employers for constructive dismissal.

Edward Glenwright resigned from the post as custodian of the uninhabited island in the Forth earlier this year after accusing a ferry operator of fraud.

He claims Historic Scotland failed to investigate the allegations properly, did not protect him after his accusation was made, causing him to lose confidence in the public body.

Mr Glenwright’s job description included monitoring wildlife, welcoming visitors and bird-watching.
