Ex-Celtic View staffer admits to indecency

A FORMER photographer at Celtic Football Club has confessed to indecency against boys as young as ten.

John Cullen, 49, who worked for the club magazine Celtic View, admitted taking pictures of nude and semi-naked youths. Glasgow Sheriff Court heard Cullen’s activities went unknown for almost 20 years.

In May 2002, cleaners had been clearing out a store room at Celtic Park, where Cullen kept his camera equipment. They opened a bag to check if it was rubbish but found bundles of pictures of young boys.

Cullen, of Shawbridge Street, Pollokshaws, Glasgow, admitted inviting children to a house in Glasgow between January and December 1982. The children have not been identified, but are thought to be aged ten to 13. Cullen will be sentenced next month.
