It will include four sessions, starting with registration at 9am and closing at approximately 4:30pm, with plenty of networking time at the breaks.

Mark Elliott, Business adviser, Design Council Spark

Design Council Spark is a product innovation fund and programme designed to fast-track products to market.

Mark has a Computer Engineering degree from Sussex University and an MBA from Imperial College Business School. He has started three companies, raised finance and sold products all around the world.

Camille Moran, EU funding, Horizon 2020 SME Instrument

Works on Scottish Enterprise’s (SE) Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) team and manages SE support for the SME Instrument funding stream, which provides commercialisation funding for high-impact, market-oriented innovation projects.

Ergon Equine has developed a load-distribution technology

that allows a 27% reduction in average pressure under the horse’s saddle.

Ed Molyneux, FreeAgent

CEO and co-founder of FreeAgent

Ed co-founded FreeAgent in 2007 with the aim of democratising accounting for micro-businesses and to help them work better with their accountants. The company started life in Edinburgh as a three-man operation, but has now grown to more than 100 staff and is the market leader in cloud accounting specifically designed for freelancers, contractors, micro-businesses and the accountants who work with them.

Brian Butchart, Sirakoss

CEO and a co-founder of SIRAKOSS Limited, a lifescience business in the orthopaedic sector which spun-out for the University of Aberdeen in 2011 and has gone on to raise almost £4m in funding, including a £3.1m Series-A in November 2014.
