Environmental funds boost for youth group

A YOUTH agency in the Capital has received £4500 towards its work with young people from Wester Hailes.

The Wester Hailes Youth Agency has been given the cash by Scottish Natural Heritage to allow the project to continue with its environmental work.

Valerie Cox, manager of the agency, said; "This year we have helped 49 young people to improve their awareness of their natural environment and take part in conservation work.

They carried out work with enthusiasm and their work benefited the areas and the people using them."
