Phil Kay: ditch the car to help our floating thistle

SCOTS comedian Phil Kay discovers that by cutting out the car then we can do wonders for our “floating thistle of a world”.

The funnyman finds out that travel is responsible for 30 per cent of carbon emissions in Scotland as he drives around Glasgow Green in a side-by-side tandem and that it’s “stupidly simple” to change the situation.

By ditching the car for short distances and walking or cycling more, he is told, we can all live for seven years longer and our health and well-being will improve.

Phil concludes that if humans just do what they’re “built to do” then we can all “do wonders for us and our beautiful floating thistle of a world”.
