Maritime Craft Services unveils new addition to fleet

North Ayrshire-based Maritime Craft Services (Clyde) has grown its fleet to 24 after adding the 26-metre Typhoon class MCS Swath 1 crew transfer vessel in a multi-million-pound purchase.
The family-owned firm, which has about 100 staff, said the new addition will carry passengers and cargo to offshore wind farms and is its first small waterplane area twin hull (Swath) vessel. It is set to be ready for charter by the end of August.
Managing director Menno Kuyt said: “As offshore wind farms move further offshore, the industry needs vessels that can transfer people and cargo in greater wave heights – we anticipate transfers in up to 2.5 metres significant wave height.”
