Golden eagle found poisoned in Lochaber

A GOLDEN eagle has been found dead after being poisoned with banned pesticides.

A GOLDEN eagle has been found dead after being poisoned with banned pesticides.

The bird of prey was discovered near Morar, Lochaber. A post-mortem showed that it had been poisoned. It is the third known eagle poisoning incident in the area over the past ten years.

It was found in March but police and RSPB Scotland has only now put out an appeal for witnesses.

Ian Thomson, of RSPB Scotland, said: “Some individuals continue to disregard the law by killing protected birds of prey.”
