Extinction Rebellion protests happening in Scotland this weekend
These protests mark the second week of their ‘make connections’ campaign fighting against the financial sector as they claim “the High Street banks we are all familiar with are
using our money to invest in ecological and human rights disasters, fuelling climate breakdown and putting us all in grave danger.”

Hide AdToday, Friday October 16 at midday the Highlands and Islands region of the group held a protest on Inverness high street called ‘Barclays, clean up your act’.
Tomorrow, Saturday October 17 at 3pm a second protest will be held on Buchanan Street in Glasgow, ‘HSBC is a climate criminal’.
For this, Extinction Rebellion will be orchestrating a ‘climate crime scene’ outside the bank where members of the group will ‘die’ on the street in a bid to demonstrate the ways in which HSBC is contributing to the climate emergency.
Following this a ‘crime scene investigator’ will examine the scene and share information on the crimes that they accuse the bank of committing.

Hide AdThe final protest of the weekend will be held on Sunday October 18 in Dundee, again protesting against Barclays bank. The group will stage the protest outside the V&A against the bank which sponsors the Mary Quant exhibition held in the museum.
Extinction Rebellion Dundee have said to expect “60s fashion and a lot of oil.”
