Emergency services are currently in attendance at what police have described as a ‘serious’ two-vehicle road crash in Wishaw, North Lanarkshire.

Police were called to the crash on Ryde Road in Wishaw at its junction with Waverley Drive at 4.30pm today.

There are currently no details of injuries or fatalities.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called around 4.30pm on Thursday, 25 February following the report of a two vehicle road crash on Ryde Road at its junction with Waverley Drive Wishaw.

"Roads around the area are currently closed and local diversions are in place.”

The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
