'Emergency' delays Scots flight

AN EMERGENCY was declared after a Glasgow-bound flight developed problems just before take-off.

George Best Belfast City Airport was put on full alert after the plane experienced technical difficulties.

The alert involved the early morning Flybe flight to Glasgow.

Emergency crews were on the scene within minutes and airport buildings were temporarily cordoned off.

No-one was injured in the incident and the 61 passengers and four crew walked off the aircraft.

A number of flights were diverted as the precautionary emergency response was under way.

The flight later flew out to Glasgow with no reports of any difficulties, a spokesman for Flybe said later.
