She died of her injuries in the early hours of this morning.

Firefighters were called to the tenement property on Argyle Park Terrace in the Meadows area of the city shortly after 5.30pm yesterday.

They said the fire, on the first floor of the building, was severe and had caused "very high temperatures".

The woman was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, and transferred to the burns unit at St John's Hospital in Livingston, where she later died.

Three other people, two men and a woman, were also treated in hospital, but were not seriously injured.
